How to Wash a Kurti — Care Guide for Cotton, Rayon & Silk
Keep colour true through Teej and Dashain with the right wash routine.
A good cotton kurti lasts seasons if you wash it gently. Nepal’s monsoon humidity also means drying fully before storage.
Cotton kurtis
Cold or mild warm wash, similar colours together, shade dry. Avoid harsh bleach.
Rayon kurtis
Hand wash or delicate cycle. Do not wring hard — rayon can lose shape.
Embroidered & festive
Turn inside out. Prefer dry clean when the care label says so — especially Dashain and Teej pieces.
